Audi ur quattro Sport LWB rallye project
Hei, new in Audi section here at Pelicans, not new in Pelicans (some long term 911, 964, 996 and 928 threads in Pelicans Porsche Forums:
https://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-996-997-991-forum/988964-996-c2-rsr-street-track-rally.html, https://forums.pelicanparts.com/911-930-turbo-super-charging-forum/413807-strosek-911-ruf-finally-back-kicking-10.html, https://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-928-technical-forum/468682-928-bolt-gluensmoothen-wide-body-kit-front-splitter-side-skirts-4.html for instance), but I haven't been reading or writing anything here. However I have had some Audi projects and cars in process and use for decades... This thread could be one to bring out my "Audi ur quattro Sport LWB rallye " project, which I bought as heavily modified, but not raced car around 2006-7 and I did drive some years, until I decided to rebuild it through total restoration + modification for more rally specs. Still in mind to keep it also street drive. Here is enclosed some of the pics of my purchase back then, I 'll fulfil the story up to this date. IT was like this as I bought it: originally 1981 Quattro, nr. 278 from factory line. It has: -Proper Gr.B complete fibre widebody with original works front hood. -20valve 428hp engine with massive intercooler and Holset -H&R lowered stiff suspension setup -Alcon Gr.B Evo2 -96 -5spd transmission with shortened gears -lots of lightweighting and modification towards race / rallye purposes.

After few year driving it did get some issues, especially with starting when beaten hard... so - typical to my garage - we decided to make it all over again. It has been in slow track as I have had higher priorities in track racing cars, but it has been evolving meanwhile... stay tuned
.

I thought of replacing all subrframe parts with tubeframes available. Anybody has any experience out of these?
