2013 Passat not locking despite the horn beeping to indcate it did
 

Just bought a 2013 Passat TDI. When using both key FOBs and even physically using the metal key in the driver's door lock, the car horn beeps to indicate that the car is locked. The light on the door panel also illuminates to indicate it is locked. I also hear all the locks (other doors and trunk) lock. However, both the driver's door and front passenger doors remain unlocked.

How I overlooked this when looking/buying the car is pretty simple. The car gave both the sounds and noise of the car locking/unlocking.

Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

Usually it’s a bad door latch lock assembly. Do you have vag com? You can look for faults in central locking.
