84 GTI Engine Bay Wire Harness

Hello.

New to the thread and currently working on a Father Son 1984 GTI project. Under the hood electrical short wiring problem. Just picked this GTI up for my 17 year old son. We so far have wired up the coil and fuel pump to get spark. Idles great now and starts with the key. Now it trying to chase down all the wires that they shorted out.

does anyone have a diagram for the wire harness that goes into the engine bay. The car is now carbureted. Stock it was fuel injection.

Need the following color codes.

thermostat wire
oil pressure
tach wire
oil temp wire
alternator wires

We have all the lights working inside and outside along with the horn. The instrument cluster is not working along with the gas gauge. Any help with a simple wire diagram would be very much applicated
