2004 Touareg alternator

I just did an alternator for a friend that has a 2004 Touareg. The dealer quoted 20+ hours to do the job! They said that the motor and transmission had to be removed for this job. I am calling BS on this one. I was able to do the job in about 5 hours. It was a pain to do, but I didn't need to remove the engine and trans to do the job. I had no idea that there was a "water cooled" alternator in any car till I worked on this one. Weird!
Just wanted to share. If you have a Touareg that needs an alternator...question the price (20+ hours!!!!) Thats some serious dough these days.
