TDI that jumped time project? Thinking of buying a 2001 Jetta TDI, for cheap. All I know so far is the owner described it as timing jumped. Sure that there are bent valves. How bad can this be? Almost all work I can do or have a machine shop do. Had this happen on a Volvo that had sodium filled valves, cost about $800 for the machine shop and valves. Never worked on a diesel before though. Anybody been through it? thanks, jc |

These are known to crack pistons. They aren't too bad to work on. Hope you don't mind black oil. |
