I'd HIGLY recommend getting a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) done on it by a qualified independent Audi shop to give what ever one you decide to buy a look over. They will be able to find issues relating to that model that might need to be fixed. Audi's are known for worn control arm bushings, so I would have those inspected closely. I'd also be concerned about the air suspension and any electronics in the car.

If you do have issues with it before you purchase you can check out the cost of the part in our catalog here: Audi Parts and Accessories - OEM Audi Parts - Performance Audi Parts at PelicanParts.com. That way you know what it may cost before you purchase. We have new lower pricing on Genuine parts right now so the parts will be cheaper than going to a dealer or shop. Let me know if you have any questions and good luck!

I'd probably go with an '08 personally. The newer the better and has some upgrades from the previous years. Check out this post here: http://www.dognmonkey.com/audi/looking-for-the-best-used-a8-d3.html. Has some good info that might help you with your purchase.
