What are your thoughts on the all new VW Atlas?

The all new Atlas is offered in a 3.6L VR6 4Motion (AWD) delivering 276HP and 266 pound-feet of torque. They're also offered in a 2.0L Turbo 4-cylinder in FWD only (no 4Motion option) and will deliver 245HP/258ftlbs. Jennifer Clayton, VW’s director of marketing communications, said, “Atlas is one of the biggest launch moments for VW since that of the Jetta in 1979." Sources say this is the way VW can comeback from the whole diesel scandal. What do you think of the all new 2018 Volkswagen Atlas? Do you think it is a good move from VW - what about only offering the 2.0T in FWD?

Really hard to get excited especially over a SUV. No mention of price. Will it be built here?

Looks like it will be $31,245 base price and it is being built at the Chattanooga plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I think this is a very competitive price. What about you?

Garage
It looks like a Nissan.

VW has lukewarm success every time they try to break into the US market. Every time they do the same thing everyone else is doing consumers are not that excited as they have no real reason to buy a 'meh' VW over any of the other 'meh' brands.

I think my 2013 Tiguan will be my last VW. I mean I love it but when it comes time for replacement the current VWs coming out are such Americanized crap I doubt I'll even look closely at them.

It looks a lot better than the Toyota Landcruiser, Kluger.

If they can at least match Toyota in build quality they may actually make some money.
