The real question about Volkswagen bringing out these newer models is do you think they can compete? The Arteon, specifically, has a Turbocharged 2.0L inline 4 cylinder that puts down around 270HP/280TQ. It is equipped with a eight-speed Aisin automatic transmission. It will most likely be offered in both FWD and AWD and is estimated at the base price of $37k.
Sources say it will compete against the Acura TLX, Audi A4, BMW 320i, Buick Regal, Cadillac ATS, Infiniti Q50, Lincoln MKZ and Volvo S60.
