Audi Q5 Lower Tail Light Replacement (with hitch)

I want to replace the passenger side lower tail light assembly on my 2018 Q5. I thought the procedure was straight forward and not very difficult. When I popped the small access panel underneath the light, I realized the hitch installation moves the bumper structure rearward about 10mm thereby blocking access to the screw holding the light assembly in place. Is there another way to get at the light? Do I have to remove the bumper? Is there access through the cargo area? Any tips appreciated.
