Si board

Hello e30 owners/experts. I installed a new si board in my ‘89 325i because 1) si lights not able to be reset 2) tach non op 3) fuel economy gauge non op. After install the same problems exist. I called ProgRama who sold me the si board and they told me I most likely need to find a working code plug. They also said I have to source a used one that is working because code plugs are no longer available new. Any thoughts on this subject would be much appreciated. Any idea where I can find a used plug. Can anyone send me a link/photo or part number for the code plug. 1989 325i
Thanks very much!!
Ps I’ve read through all the forums on this subject which have been helpful

I see BMW-17 coding plugs on eBay. Do I just replace or are there other steps I need to take after I swap it out? Do I need a scan tool. Is this something a novice e30 owner can do solo? Thx
