Air Conditioner Question

Hi guys and gals!
I have a 1989 BMW 325i. I am interested to know something about the AC in the car. When you push the AC button (blue snowflake), what position should the 3 vent sliders be set? I read in the manual that the vent controls have no effect, but the only way I get any air out of the dash vents is by moving the center slider to the right. However, if I leave all the sliders to the left, I feel cold air on the floor. Is it designed only to get cold air by moving the center slider to the right, or is something broken? Thanks in advance!

It's a AC installation problem. So you consult with any auto mechanic.

You should find a car mechanic to check it.

A/C - Same

I have an 87 325IC and the a/c works the same way.

That's because to the left of the slider you notice a 0. As in zero air. Basically you are closing the vent from a central location. It has no effect on the compressor. When all three of them are on 0... All of them are closed so your fan is blowing air into the closed vents with nowhere to go except somewhere on the floor apparently.

If you want air to blow out of the vents you have to open them.
