No or little heat
I have a 95 325i that is not generating any heat. I had heat before but found that I had leaked fluid out of the overflow. I replaced the coolant (dealer coolant and distilled water) and thermostat, then bled the system until there weren't any bubbles. I may get luke warm air but that is about it. Any suggestions?

As I recall, the heater valve on an e36 fails in the open position, so if I am correct, then there must still be air in the system. I don't know if it helps, but I usually run mine up on ramps when I bleed them to make the bleed point higher relative to the rest of the system.
If you have not ever replaced your overflow tank, it is a pretty safe bet that it is crumbled inside and will suck more air into the coolant. |

It did, I bled the system again and got a big burb of air. Took it for a test drive and had heat.
