All good ideas. One thing that has greatly helped all our P-cars is adding an extra ground harness behind the dash. I take the dash out, clean all the grounds I can find (the ring behind the fuse block is the usual culprit) and then run an extra harness from the back of the battery box (there's a stock ground right to the box), grounding the big ticket items (lighter, blower fan, light switch and stereo) through the new harness and tying the new ground wires into the stock grounds as well. So many problems just vanish.
