After searching the site I posted a similar questions elsewhere on the forum, but got very little response, so I'll try here.
1. On my '83 SC Targa, are the door jamb and window VIN numbers (which match) supposed to match the numbers stamped in the trunk on the body by the gas tank? They do not. The last 6 digits DO match, but prior numbers and letters do not.
2. The cert. of authenticity I ordered from Porsche doesn't appear to match anything, other than the VIN and colors that I gave them. The engine number 65301810 they give does not match the number stamped on my engine. My engine # is 64D1651, they show 65301810 (M930/16) for number/type. Can this be correct? If so, where would I find their number?
3. They show a transmission number/type as 1755191 (G915/63). I do not know my trans number and the Bentley manual is not clear on where to look. Where might I find it?
Thank you for any and all help. I'm thinking the Cert.of Authenticity was a total ripoff and will be seeking a refund pending any answers I receive here.
