AFAIK I am not the type of person who reads a sentence on the internet and immediately proceeds to dismantle complex equipment. There might be a delay between the two steps, but there might not be a second step at all.

question 1 : so if I understand, then if the rods must come out, and the oil pan gasket needs replacement, then both jobs combined are a more efficient job than each alone?
question 2 : if old rods have new bearings, and the rods need replacement, new bearings/nuts are obligatory anyways?
I have seen this before - you really mean bolts and not nuts? nuts get replaced in the rod bearing procedure.
it also sounds like I need to read about rod condition and symptoms.
