My 1979 930 project
Hi everybody!
Just wanted to post my Porsche on this forum.. I bought my 930 in May 2013 in norway, but the car is a US one with previous owner from New Jersey (Robert Fisher - GoFishRacing) I was not planning to do much to it, but then again.... Said that on other cars before ![]() It started out good with some driving and only minor bugs (bushings, brakes and so on), then it got a noise in the engine that could not be good. After opening it, I found my suspected problem - worn out bearings on conrods++ I started looking for a new engine because I had no experience working on these engines, and after a long search I bought one from a car that I testdrove. It has EFI and a lot of nice parts ![]() After that I started taking the rest of the car apart... Interior, windows and so on Long story short. The car is currently waiting for new paint at Meek Customs (the best guys in Norway for the job). Here are some pictures that speak for themselves: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In my garage the day I got it ![]() Short video: Running too lean )http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v670/Billi-Racing/Porsche%20930/684C239F-0B91-4910-B68F-971DAA4DB3DE-3231-00000486B77F9FFC.mp4 Next stage...

Looks like you are making a nice car even nicer good job. What do you think caused the engine to fail like that? Poor oil pressure? Bad maintenance or did you find something else?

I changed oil when i got the car. Mobil1 5w50(this is what porsche recommends here). The previous owner told me not to rev it over 5500rpm. I've been over that. There was a dent in one of the oil-lines... I have new engine now, all new oil lines and new oil coolers from Elephant. Hope the engine will last a looooong time now....
