Bad pan repairs being repaired
The time has come. After struggling to fit suspension components properly I brought my tub to Karl at Thoroughbred Motorsports in PA last August and has finally made it's way onto his Celette. Probably easiest to link the Facebook post directly for a look at the photos, check it out.

Wow! Your car was hammered. Looks like it’s in excellent hands. Nice to see it’s getting done right.
A good warning for anyone interested in buying a 911/930 to check the diagonal measurements as outlined in the manual. It’s super simple and only take a few minutes.

So much $ into a car that will always be branded as salvage/totaled.
Now if you turn it into a track rat....who cares, enjoy the crap out of it! Mark Last edited by full quack; 03-25-2020 at 06:10 PM.. |

Fortunately title is clean, unfortunately the repair wasn't very well done. If I didn't struggle installing the upgraded aftermarket suspension parts I would have never really dug in. If it was salvage I would've cranked everything into an sc or carerra tub and called it a day. Will be done right this time and straight as new. No regrets.

And beautiful... The car wears that color really well. It'll be amazing when done.

Actually this started when I was fitting those fat formula43 rad 14 wheels that came fresh off an M491 but didn't fit right on the drivers back, which inspired me to move to the front, which inspired me to pull the suspension for new bushings and the coil-overs... at which point I started taking measurements... and here we are... Will update as progress is made

What an undertaking, but if their excellent documentation is any indicator, you're in good hands!
Glad to see this being fixed correctly.

Thanks for checking in Chris! I'll keep the updates rolling in for everyone out there in need of this type of service, I ran into many dead ends looking for a qualified shop. Probably going to put the new cams on hold for a bit. Although the engine is just sitting in my garage...

This is getting interesting for sure. Starting in the back and working forward, front had to be opened up to get at the inner reinforcements. Looking like I'll have a little paint work in front of me.
