Bosch fuel pumps - 0580 464 200 versus 0580 254 044
When i look at the 044 datasheet I see that there are actually two versions of the same pump, one for max 5 bar use and the other for up to 8 bar use.
0 580 254 044 data sheet Fuel Pump FP 200 Max. Pressure 5 bar Order number 0 580 254 044 Fuel Pump FP 200 Max. Pressure 8 bar Order number B 261 205 413-01 Some people have reported very short life on the 0 580 254 044 pump. I wonder if the reason behind is the fact that CIS runs the pump at a higher pressure than 5 bar? Has anyone used the new Bosch 0580 464 200 fuel pump. It is marketed as a replacement for the 0580 254 044 pump with 10% more flow at 7bar. 0580 464 200 datasheet COMPARISON Diameter: 60mm - 0 580 254 044 & B 261 205 413-01 52mm - 0580 464 200 (0580 464 200 comes with 8mm sleeve to be used on old brackets) Length is about the same when using M18x1.5 adapter on 0580 464 200 Without the adapter 0580 464 200 is 20mm shorter (M14x1.5) Both have the same current draw 0580 464 200 is 15% lighter Max pressure 5 bar on 0 580 254 044 8 bar on B 261 205 413-01 7.5 bar on 0580 464 200

I have no experience other than stock and the 044 but I’m curious what you find on this. I switched from the two stock 930 pumps to a single 044 pump and wouldn’t mind switching to another with more margin.

The 8bar version was one that was tested and certified by Bosch, usually only available through Motorsports distributors.
The plain -044 is no longer in production. The -200 is smaller diameter, longer (much longer with adapters), has a smaller diameter inlet (why?!), and the electrical terminals are 4-5mm closer together -- so if you are using the rubber pump sleeve like the 964/993/Turbo, the pump does not fit.

Thanks Chris! Testing some pumps to perform better that the others and then asking for a premium is almost certainly the key.
Looks like that with this new -200 pump Bosch is producing multiple different products based on the same pump but with different set of included adapters and the testing of the pump at the factory. I just received my order for 0 580 464 200 fuel pump. The actual pump in the package is 0 580 464 150. ![]() This 0 580 464 150 part number made me think that someone cheated, but after searching on the internet I now think that I was not. I bet this will cause a lot of questions from from the customers. Can anybody confirm that my speculation would be correct?

Just to throw it out there, I've heard multiple times that there are many selling counterfeit versions of these pumps.
I think at some point Bosch added a way to look up a code/serial to verify what you bought is legit. Any possibility you have a non-legit pump with an incorrect number stamped on it?

I bought my Bosch 044 fuel pump in 2019 from Summit Racing. I figured since they sell to racers that they wouldn't sell counterfeit parts that could blow up a motor. So far so good.
The Bosch part number I ordered under show Not Available and directs you to this: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/bch-0580464200/part-type/fuel-pumps

I bought 2 pumps from Summit in 2019ish, both pumps arrived with the factory seals broke in the boxes. Most likely counterfeit but I was ended up keeping them, I'll buy from somewhere else when these fail.

I found the instruction manual in the box.
![]() 0 580 464 200 box has 0 580 464 150 pump in it. I wonder how many of those other 0 580 464 2xx products have actually 0 580 464 150 pump in their boxes?

Based on what you posted, it looks like the "150" is just the pump itself. And you configure it with the parts/assembly diagram into the other pump numbers (ex: "200")

Bosch fuel injectors packaging has a hologram anti-counterfeit thing on it. IIRC you can scan the code and verify on Bosch website that it’s legit. No idea if hey do it for pumps too but putting it out there.

Yes they do have it on pumps as well. 18-digit code and a hologram. Bosch website confirmed my pump to be real Bosch product.

I need some help here too, boys. I got the fittings from Len to test my fuel pressure in between the two pumps, and I only have .6 bar. Since the spec is between 2-4 bar, the manual says my front pump is not contributing enough. So even though I replaced it in 2017 according to my notes, my front pump must be bad again. I should be annoyed but I’m excited that this might be my boost stumble issue.
What is the best pump to replace it with that will fit without any BS?

The Bosch 044 pumps work fine for me in the stock locations.
There was some confusion earlier in this thread on a list of part numbers, the extended part number part is just a number that correlates with different fittings on the same pump.
