valve adjustment 1987 930
Can the crankshaft be rotated by turning the alternator pully without removing the sparkplugs?
New fanbelt with 6 shims installed between pully half and tensioning cap. 1/4 inch deflection of fanbelt with ac belt removed. Thank you |

Yes, but you may need to add some extra tension on the belt - with your fingers. I find the RHS of the belt works better.

I cup my hand over wrench on the pulley nut to secure, and use my fingers to apply pressure on the belt (right side when facing engine) when rotating the pulley.

Just put the car in gear and use a broomstick between a couple of lug bolts to turn the engine over. I find it much easier.
Have to stop the other wheel from rotating ofc.
