RUF intercooler price check

Hello,

I have a RUF IC which I am not using for my 930.
RUF asked me to offer the IC to them, they are very rare
meanwhile and they need one from time to time.

The IC is in fine condition, just some small dings on the core.
With the IC is the original RUF turbo to IC pipe
+ a new in box RUF air blocking plate for the whaletail.

Maybe you can give me some price ideas, would be helpfull.

thanks for help
Falk

I am sure the value is in the rarity as opposed to the performance.
But you probably already know that
One thing I know is RUF can outbid me, but I do understand that you should also get the best price you can (I would)
cheers
Ben

I think $1500 - $1750 is fair - but what the hell do I know - Fabspeed is selling a poorly finihed intercooler kit north of $2000

Umm, those sound like long neck prices. I thought the RUF was two stock ICs sandwiched on top of each other??? I got a stock IC on Ebay for $50... so the RUF should be $100

No, this IC is not a double stock IC.
It was developed from RUF and the design was used from Porsche
for the 930s ICs (same core).
Later the 930s IC influenced the 965IC.

He's right about it being a short neck intercooler though.
And with the unrepairable dent and damage to the fins in the core on top the collector value of it has dropped a large amount of money.

Usually crush dents like that are on the bottom of the core from the fan housing strap where the bolt goes through or ignition coil if they stick up to high and someone new to the car wrestles with installing the intercooler.

Maybe a translation problem? but this RUF IC is long neck.

I think this IC is in the 1,3 to 1,5k range too,
Euros here, $ in the USA.

I watch the market since years, there was not one for sale
I can remember.

I would eventually like to get one of these. What would you take for it? The original owner of my 930 did a cosmetic Ruf conversion with the Slant Nose, Variable Boost and the interior. He skipped the meat of the conversion. The 5 speed, 3.3 engine and the Intercooler. I am planning over time to complete the conversion so this might be a nice addition.

Mark,
truly I wanted to get a price idea for the IC mainly.
From this threat I received some pm`s with offers.
Following the rules, you are 4th.
If I decide to sell the IC and the others pass,
I will inform you via pm.

thanks
Falk

M Logo RUF Intercooler

I have a partially converted 1984 RUF 930, missing 3.4 pistons, 5 SPD transmission and the RUF Intercooler; everything else is on board.

Does anyone has a used RUF intercooler to sell or trade?

thanks.

Interesting discussion of prices as I have one RUF intercooler taken out of my RUF BTR engine with green RUF emblem for now at least

(picture is from some exhibition 2005)

, when I changed it 2007 to BlownSix B6 full width race intercooler...

Actually I haven't thought of selling it yet as I haven't thought of selling any old useful 911 parts anyway as long as I have at least few 911 cars in garage, but you never know...
It is very good intercooler in terms of additional HP and very lightweight compared to most aftermarket intercooler options. B6 delivers some more especially with high boosts, but it is also quite a lot heavier than RUF IC.
But I wouldn't let it go that cheap: Any decent new intercooler even if not RUF are worth over 2k usd euros, best ones for 993 biturbo LM evo more than 10k usd, so I would consider it something between 2-3k usd for today. I might be wrong, my price would be more like 3k usd if selling... But I rather like buying parts as some of you know .

Reply on RUF intercooler

Petri,

Thanks for your reply...

I Live in Florida with many friends from Finland! About the RUF intercooler, I am interested and can even offerr you some used/ extremely good condition parts I have that were in this car (RUF) that I have upgraded. I have a double exhaust muffler (modified/ stripped/ SST black painted) sounds awesome!

Please let me know what you would be asking for it, plus shipping to Florida, USA.

If you wish to do this over a more private forum, please share an email and I will contact you then.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

Let me know...Carl

1986 930,

Hello! As you are in FL, are you considering to upgrade to a higher volume/ better performance IC? If so, I would be interested in buying your RUF IC. As I said, I have an nice SST/ Black painted RUF modified dual exhaust muffler you might be interested.

Let me know, Carl
