1976 CIS K-Jet part ID help needed
Hey all,
New to the forum and to the 930. Just picked up a 1976 Turbo Carerra that has been sitting for a while (photo included for those curious). A few parts have walked away from this car and found their way on eBay in a questionable situation but thats another story. I've been able to source a fuel distributor and an air filter housing. In prep for getting this started for the first time in at least 6 years, I'm noticing there is a bridge piece across the sensor plate that is missing from mine. As far as I know this is not an individually sourced piece and I'm having a hard time figuring out the purpose of this component other than bolting down the air intake. Seen below. Does anyone have any insight on what this does, where I can find one without replacing the whole unit and anything else I should be looking for before I change out the fluids and turn the key? ![]()

Welcome to the forum and to Porsche Turbo ownership!
If you have the stock type airbox and plan to use it you will need this piece but if you are like a lot of us that would rather use a K&N or other air filter I have never seen a need for it. There are aa few of these floating around and one will turn up if you need it to keep the car original.

Pretty sure I purchased one off Pelican - some years back. Mine was missing too.
I never quite figured out what it was for - other than perhaps a backfire thru the intake . I doubt it is critical - but you will source one. Not on pelican? Alan

This is a great question! I have often wondered what the black plastic piece on the bar is for. I wonder if Henry Schmidt at Supertec might know?

This part limits swing-back (I don't know the correct english term) of the disc, for example when you lift immediately the throttle. When you do (and part is there), you can almost hear it hitting the stop. Also you may have noticed, that when you lift the throttle quick, there is kind of a jump right forward, before you are in push-operation. Without limiter, it's much worse.

Roland, I thought the throttle plate stop that is pressed into the housing performs that task.
