Looking for advise on purchasing 1976 911S
Hi there,
Long time lover of 911’s and have recently been looking at a 1976 911S being sold in Los Angeles. Looking to see if there is any advice for owning this year and model in terms of maintenance, common issues or other things to be weary of when looking to buy. Link to the car in question: https://classics.autotrader.com/classic-cars/1976/porsche/911/102116817 Thanks in advance for the advise! |

For a '76 911S, watch out for:
- Rust in the front trunk and floor pans - Rear main seal leaks - Cylinder head issues (cracks, leaks) - Original ignition system reliability - Brake system upgrades (if not already done) |

Inspect the car thoroughly, and consider a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) by a Porsche specialist.

If the car is staying in Ca, make sure it has all of its original smog equipment and passes the smog test. ‘76 is a required smog test year.
