Are Rocker arms always replaced during a 930 rebuild?
 

I am in the middle of a rebuild on my '86 930 with 65K miles. I'm wondering if it is common practice to replace the rocker arms. Mine look pretty good with what seems to be normal wear, but I've replaced damn near everything else, so I'm wondering if keeping the stock lifters is a bad idea.

Not that I've heard of - perhaps just a rebush.

If you are replacing cams, it is recommended the arms be replaced. Replacing the elephant feet/screw and nut is highly recommended in any type of rebuild.

A bit of advice: Don't touch the car (barring obvious maintenance) for a good long time. Enjoy it the way it is.

Don't read threads about mods and hp bumps and then jump in with both feet.

I've been without my car for 8 months now and it's killing me.

This one is staying stock! I've had many 911's that I' ve modified, I am just going to enjoy this one the way it is. Actually, this car is really to nice to modify, I may look for another one to do later...

When Neil Harvey went through my parts, he rebushed the rockers, replaced the rocker shafts (new ones), and completely went through the adjusters and feet. All of these parts were individually vacuum bagged and sealed!!!!!

Thanks for the help everyone. Considering that reconditioning the rockers and putting in new bushes will cost about $20-25 per rocker, I'm just going to get new ones at $40 per and rest a bit easier. Why is everything on these cars so freaking expensive!?

My rockers were $99 each.........................

Good golly- what kind are they? My mechanic is getting them from Worldpac.

edit- btw- that's probably for the whole rocker assembly- I'm just talking the rocker itself.
