Knob under dash

I'm trying to figure out what this knob controls on my 1982 930. I was hoping someone could shed some light on this before I have to pull all the carpet out in the trunk to trace it out.

I'm going with secret boost...going to pull everything out of the trunk and trace this mystery knob out. I don't want any "more" boost than I already have!

Those are controls for the dual Schlampenschleppers.

Makes me wonder if they’re fader knobs for a stereo since they’re on both sides. Only way to know for sure is to start pulling wires out.
I got enough wire to stuff a five gallon bucket when I pulled my aftermarket stereo and alarm.

Yeh, mystery wires and unknown little boxes are fun. Mine came to me with the remnants of an ungo box plus a broken aftermarket alarm, and false items to pass New Jersey's licensing board {mine is a gray market car}.
Hell, I even had a cardboard box under the seat painted black with false wires going back to the engine compartment, all intended to look like a factory Lamda system, even had a nut welded to the exhaust with a false O2 sensor screwed into it.
Ah the 80's must have been good times.

That looks exactly like the manual boost control valve that I once had install on my '77 Turbo. It was provided by Garretson Enterprises. Loosen the screw on top to adjust the valve, then lock it down to prevent dial-of-death events.

Well some success,

I pulled and pulled and it kept coming and coming and here is the result in a picture.




Found the terminal end attached to nothing next to the fuel filter.

My 930 is going to be quicker once the 50 kilos of copper have been removed.

I would say I have removed 3 x this already trying to tidy up the wiring.

The white button switch (bottom left) I found attached next to the front seat belt buckle bolts, and again wires to no where. Makes me wonder what the hell has this 930 been through, and what this switch could have possibly been for.
