After market intakes....your .02
I have beem searching for something better than the monsterous access blocking heat sink that I see the stock intake housing as being.
I have found three different ones and was hoping for some education from all you more knowledgable 930 guru's out there....what's do you guys think about them? Here's SuperTec's: Here's a very similar one I found on the 9XAUTO dot com website: and finally the Fabspeed intake... I have my own thoughts and opinions on each one but with the intention of seeing if I am at least pointing the right directiion in my thinking, let me know what you all think..... fire away !!

These aftermarket air filters biggest benefits are easier access to idle speed & mixture adjustments. I think performance improvement is negligible, it has been debated on other threads. Weight savings may be three pounds.
I used a hacksaw and cut out a large section across the hinged lid on my stock air filter housing. This retains the use of the stock Mahle filter. The sharp edges were turned in and adjusted to not interfere with the A/C hoses.

What William said.
None of the intake tracts listed, do anything to smooth the flow into the CIS metering plate area. I think you may lose a few HP compared to the factory air box.

You can make this one yourself for ~$20. If you don't like it you're not out much.
