MY 3.8 twin turbo build up. How much HP do you think?

Its a 3.8 built with Carrillo rods, EVO cams ported heads. Twin Garrett GT35r ball bearing turbos. Motec engine management. I wonder how much HP it will make?http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1175055421.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1175055485.jpg

WydRyd 03-27-2007 09:29 PM

VERY nice! Depends on how much boost you intend to run?!?

I will add more pics as we progress on.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1175057544.jpg [img]

what a dork. 1.2 bar. with t3/t4 60s it made almost 700 hp at 1 bar before.the rebuild. On stock internals. I am also running 2.5 intake pipe.

Well it should breath alright, but the real question is what size injectors you plan on using:)

WydRyd 03-27-2007 10:12 PM

Yeh, I would have said mid->high 700's

Craig 930 RS 03-28-2007 08:52 AM

A LOT

cgmeredithjr 03-28-2007 08:56 AM

I would think that beast should make closer to 1000...especially with individual throttle bodies! Enough turbo to support 1200HP, then consider 8.5hp/lb/min of air flow for the air-cooled 2 valve motor and you get~1020HP...if you can put enough boost to it.

Cleve:D

Candelaria 03-28-2007 02:23 PM

800+ HP., I have a similar setup, but without the tb's, and 3076's instead of 3582's turbos, it is making 807hp at the wheels at 1.45bar, with a good tune yours should make 900+ at similar boost levels.,keep us posted.,Candy.

WydRyd 03-28-2007 08:53 PM

I think you'll have WAY TOO MUCH HP... so I think you should give me some :D

Bad@$$! Did you bore the case for the 3.8 cylinders or did you use slip ins? You could run that thing on low boost and eat Ferraris and crap Corvettes

WydRyd 03-28-2007 10:11 PM

Have you flame ringed the heads/liners for the extreme boost levels you plan to run?

beepbeep 03-29-2007 01:13 AM

Cool engine!

Suggestion: check head temps while on-dyno. It will probably deliver ungoodly amount of power in short bursts but I suggest monitoring head temps and tuning the motor so they never exceed 210 deg. C (if you used N/A heads) or 230 deg C (if you used Turbo heads). After that, heads go soft/plastic and all kind of bad things start to happend.
