** WARNING: Those who do not approve of extreme high speed street driving - DO NOT READ!!! **
It's Saturday night and I'm dead bored out of my whits! SO, I decide to go to the not-so-local video store to pick up a couple videos for the night and I take the long route down the FWY (as us HP junkies do when we're bored) ![]() I jump onto the FWY's shoulder entrance and notice a few cars beside me along the FWY. I know if I maintain this speed I'll have to slow down and merge with the group of cars approaching, so what does one do? There's a perfectly clear road ahead and it's a 100km/h zone, so I do what any other person with a few hundred horses under his feet does, I put the pedal to the metal ![]() The redline to 3rd comes in no time at all and not long afterwards, I've already hit the redline in 4th gear with the boost needle pinned at 1.25bar. Damn, I've exceeded the speed limit by a factor of two already I figure, NOW is probably a good time to back off, so I decellerate abruptly and wait for the traffic to catch up.As I look in the driver's side mirror, I can see a bright yellow glow flashing behind me for about 4-5 seconds Yup, excess fuel being dumped past the glowing red hot headers! What a glorious site that is ![]() The cars behind me start flashing their headlights frantically and one of the cars eventually catch up to me. The passenger rolls down his window and shouts "DUDE, YOUR CAR WAS ON FIRE!!!". I simply reply "Yeh, it does that from time to time mate. It's cool!" and he shouts "That's sick dude!". By this time, the exit is nearing, so I drop her down into 3rd and plant my foot again to exit, backing off as the intersection nears. Again, bright yellow flashes light up the path behind me ![]() Damn I absolutely LOVE driving this car!

When my car was on the dyno, I jokingly asked the tuner if he could set the EFI so I still got flames
. He said sure, but we're still working out the bugs so I haven't pressed the issue. I guess you just don't cut the fuel off when you close the throttle?

Then welcome to the flame throwing club
![]() Hmmm... I think I might need one of those extended Fabspeed wastegate dump pipes out the left side of the bumper. I have a short dump pipe and I've noticed fuel spots on my rear bumper. Probably happens as the wastegate opens and dumps the excess exhaust when regulating boost ![]() Nothing really compares to the sound of these 46mm wastegates opening though. Well, except for TWO of them

Merv, youll like to know, Im not going to muffle my car at all. Im just going to have a straight 3" pip coming out the back of it. I hope this will warent some flames. In fact I had a dream the other night that I was racing my buddy Tom's twin turboed C6 vette and it was such a close race ( I was winning as I will when the car is done) that when his front bumper was at my rear, I melted the front quarter panel when I let off the gas. Then I woke up and there was a wet spot in my bed...
It was a great dream, but it WILL be a reality soon.

Last weekend I was at the track and as my buddy and I pull into the pits he blerts out how he loved following me into turn 8 as I dump a basketball sized flame out downshifting into the braking zone.

GREAT FUN isn't it?
I actually learnt how do do this on demand now ![]() Drive under WOT in 4th gear, back off the throttle real quick, then immediately feather the throttle open a tiny amount. Look in your rear view mirror and you'll see the fireworks. I did this a couple nights ago and was able to throw out some serious flames for about 10 seconds Did it a few times along the FWY just to validate my theory and it works great ![]() You have to get the exhaust and turbo up to pretty hot temps before-hand though.
