Ben at M+K Exhaust Zork tube prototypes
I am interested in an M+K zork tube for my 930.
Ben told me to ask nicely for some pictures as well as feedback from the zork prototype owners. My concern is that I think the zork that Fabspeed sells hangs too low and doesn't stick out far enough. Ben thought that his tube, designed by Brian Bodart, fits closer to the bumper and also sticks out better, so I would like to see examples of the finished product. Would like to know about fit and function, and does it sound and look cool? Thanks for your help. |

I have/had the Fabspeed, and it has "up" and "down" adjustability, to allow for various rear valances. The "sticking out" part, well, that's set (no adjustment). If I had it to do over again, I would have had a local muffler shop fab me up something or purchase the M&K...I like to support the "underdog" (M&K) as it were, and I think the Fabspeed is overpriced for what it is.
As for sound, I love the sound, but my car is a daily driver and spends a lot of time on decel and cruising through neighborhoods and parking lots...needless to say, the sound would occasionally wear on my nerves. On the interstate or long drives, the sound was/is perfect. I had a local shop fab me up a Borla XR-1 that easily slips on and off of the Fabspeed Zork flange, so it's easy for me to put the Zork tube back on when I so desire.

The Zork tubes are very easy to make, it's the flange thats difficult.
When I couldnt source one for the K27 I made one out of 1/2" steel. If someone could enlighten me as to where i can purchase a flange I would like to weld up a Zork.

I've got some and so does Ben. We sell zorks but are certainly not opposed to helping out those who DIY.
They are laser cut 321 stainless and cost about $25.

Put me in for one, I have plenty of SS 2.5 and 3 inch tubing and bends.
Since this will be on my 914 I pretty much have to make it anyway.. Zorks are very cool I can be the only one on my block to own one... I will PM you for details of how you would prefer pay and ship.. thanks!
