Excellent!! Looking forward to hearing how she does on the dyno.

Daaaaaayam!
That is sweet!

The question has been asked in other threads but I don't recall it being answered: How do you use your parking brake with that shifter installed?

Gumba11 08-01-2007 03:00 PM

I answered that question in a couple of other threads but I can do it here too. :) You simply adjust your e brake cables or shoes (In my case shoe adjustment) a bit tighter so you get full engagement at around 4 clicks. I have done this with mine and you just have to reach around the front of the shifter a little bit to release the button with your right hand while pulling up on the lever with your left to ease the release. Then you just lower the handle.

The intake manifold is just larger and better flowing than the pancake manifold. I dont know yet if we will see better numbers with this versus the Carrera manifold. I will post dyno results as soon as possible.

Thanks for the kind words guys, its been a long 4 months!:)

What type and who makes the shifter? I love it!

Gumba11 08-01-2007 04:29 PM

It is the Hargett Precision 930 shifter. You can find it and some other cool stuff at www.hargettprecision.com

I love it too! ;)

spence88mph 08-02-2007 05:17 AM

nice car!!

Like the shifter but what happens to the hand brake?

Gumba11 08-02-2007 08:45 AM

Read the rest of the thread. It discusses that. Its under the shifter, still there and working. :)

Patience has run out here, I want to see a picture of your engine bay with the intake manifold installed! Another tuning update would be good too!

slow&rusty 08-11-2007 08:19 AM

Simply beauitful wow....and inspiring too.

As an aside are you running a different Brake Master Cylinder with those 997 calipers?

Keep us posted. Love it!

Yasin

Gumba11 08-11-2007 08:36 PM

Yeah, It is a 23mm master cylinder. What the application is from I dont know. You could contact Doug at Vehicle Craft for more details. He's a great guy and always takes the time to answer your questions!

Thanks for the kind words. They mean a ton!!! Makes all the hard work worth it and to drive it is well, a really good substitute for sex!!! LOL!

seriously dig your car, just one thing, with all these mods and effort why aren't you running twin plugs? Just seems like one of those while you're at it necessities but ready to be proven wrong! Anyway, killer car!

Spence:
I can't answer for him, but I can give generalities. Some say the P Gods didn't do it for space or more likely $$$. Other's say that the benefit of the dual plug doesn't show as quickly on the turbo's because of the flat piston. Obviously a high compression domed hemi piston bisects the flame front which doesn't happen with a flat turbo piston. The original 3.3 piston seems to be within the diameter that still works with a single plug.

Now, I'm not saying duals wouldn't be optimum. I'm saying that it seems to be less a cost:benefit ratio relative to high comp pistons. We all draw a line somewhere in the sand....its just a question of how far most of us step over it during our build :)

Gumba11 08-12-2007 03:54 PM

Great answer Luke and my engine builders thoughts precisely. As for cost involved it would have only cost me another 15 dollars per head to have them twin plugged. Regret? Yes. Does it limit me from making the kind of horsepower I want? No. So Im ok with not doing it.............

HOWEVER........LOL!

On the next build I plan on going 3.5 to 3.6 litres and twin plug with twin turbo and then beyond the 800 HP mark. This will be a couple or three years down the road though as I am more than done spending money for the moment.

I am going to hit the dyno this coming sunday and if all goes well I will be posting my dyno numbers then.

Stay tuned............................................. .......Chris :)
