930 rotor question
 

Anybody here use the RPM 7000 rotor on their cars? Seems to me you don't want your coil grounding-out at 7000 RPM in a Turbo car, but then I am not an expert.

I do appreciate any suggestions on this one since this is my first Turbo car.

It doesn't ground the coil but cuts the power to all the plug wires until the rpms come back down. I think there is another system that is supposed to cut fuel to stop over revving, but I would rather have the rpm limiting rotor than a possible lean fuel situation at high rpm.

That's one good thing about the MSD 6AL I use. It has a Soft Touch Rev Control that alternates what cylinders get cut off so they don't load up.

You know, that makes perfect sense now that you explained it. Last thing you would want is an explosive situation. And, it didn't make sense to me that the power would be completely gone either.

What type of plugs do you run in yours? I am thinking about trying the Denso Iridium instead of the Bosch Platinum, since the Bosch Platinum was running my 83 911SC very poorly for some reason. Any thoughts about this?

I'm running Bosch FR5DTC plugs because I've twin plugged my engine and that's what fits the lower holes in the heads. I need to see what other plug works and are cheaper.

There is a thread talkiing about NGK plugs, but you may have to change them more often?
