You'll do just fine. Take your time and never be afraid to ask for help, this community is the most valuable Porsche resource there ever was. Great guys here. You already know the British weather will never cooperate. I'm just winding up the same process your are contemplating. Started about seven years ago. Had a few bumps in the road along the way. Designed and built my own house, 5-6 heart attacks, triple bypass, and then I got cancer. My nick name is "lucky" Somebody just didn't want me to finish this I guess. Apart from the paint and welding, I'll tackle all the other jobs myself but, having read up on headlining, I doubt I'll attempt it. Respect!! |
Cole, quick question having re-read your solenoid piece.
The Mac has 3 ports, what's the middle one for? Also what actually regulates the level of boost, is there a pressure adjustment on the solenoid or does it have to be connected to an EBC to adjust boost levels? I thought the MAC solenoid was an EBC. Am I missing something? PS Fab Cord by the way, is it yours? |

Unfortunatly the L29 belongs to some guy who was here for the Auburn, Cord, Dusenburg Festival and came knocking on my door and ask if he could take some pictures of his car in front of the house. The L29 is worth well over a million !!!! Here is a pic of the EBC it's mounted under my ash tray and you program it to operate your wastegate based off a boost line into the back of the EBC. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1291244560.jpg The EBC triggers the boost solenoid: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1291244617.jpg There are 3 ports on the solenoid Right side is boost port from the turbo, center is exhaust port with a sintered muffler installed, and the left side port hooks into the wastegate plumbing. Look what I found, Dial a Death
Hi Guys
I've owned my car for about 2 months now, and keep discovering new toys on my car. I was doing some research on wastegates. Last night I decide to check the routing on my wastegate lines. I have an oem wastegate. There are 3 lines coming off the wastegate. 1 goes to the intercooler, and the other 2 which are in braided lines go to the front of car. This got me curious. So I traced the lines to trunk, and into the interior compartment. I noticed there was a little knob on the passenger footwell. See pic. I pulled the panel and discovered a manual boost controller. Anyone recognize this style? See Pic. My mechanical boost gauge is currently showing .8 bar boost. I have had the odd overboost situation happen. Usually above 5000 rpm. The knob is all the way out, if I screw the knob in will this increase my boost? What would a safe level be? My car 2 additional injectors plumbed into the intake manifold. These are controlled by a fuel controller located near the relays in the engine compartment. I do plan on getting a wideband to make sure I am safe. Any thoughts or experience would be appreciated.
