Another 2.7 Turbo project?

Hi to all that have succesfully done this and are your engines still going stong. As you see from the tirle i hava 2.7. My question is how do i lower the compression of the engine so that it will take a turbo more easily? I plan on adding an intercooler and a front mounted oil cooler. Will it cope if i dont lower the compression. Im not one for flooring the car everywhere so will it be safe to fit without lowering compression? My engine is a good solid base. With lowered compression what sort of power could i expect safely?

Did you read the other thread, in summary not a great engine to be turboing and if you do, just over 200hp... Is it worth it for that? your call.

Note, Waynes car has a euro engine.

Nathan, what do you mean by Euro engine? Whats the difference

NathanUK 01-28-2008 01:29 PM

USA cars are usually lower compression than ROW/euro cars. This is why so many people in the USA do turbo and supercharger conversions. As for us in the UK, it's not such a good option.

Does anyone here know that actual CR of the 2.7 engines?
