Exhaust; all the kids are doing it...

I'm a Rarlyl8 zork guy myself, but this has it's merits:

I developed a similar system several years ago, but only recently found a valve that would survive more than a year. It's been on my car for 2 years now and is still performing perfectly. It is designed very similar to the one in the link except everything is internal and automatic. It looks like a conventional 930 muffler. We plan to begin tooling for production this summer. I'm looking into options to switch it on and off manually but found that in use I stopped playing with the manual setting and left it full time in auto mode after the newness wore off.

Problem is... When you uncap the exhaust with a zork the engine instantly leans out. Additional fuel is required. It is literally impossible to change the program on the fly without a laptop and impossible for CIS. Brian's approach is much easier, as once the adjustment is made, its a done deal. Packaging looks nice, plenty of bling just difficult obstacles to overcome.

I have been toying with this idea for quite some time and remember Brian's statements on this topic as well.

For 930's in countries where MOT and such crap matters, this could be a winner. Especially the concealed version.

Restriction depends on what method they are using to silence the muffled side and the ID of the twin pipes. The calculations I did long ago called for 2 x 2"ID outlet pipes in order to be as open as a single 3" straight through, which will support 400+HP.

Here is the catch, and one reason I deleted the manual option, if you get on boost while the valve is closed there will be extreme back pressure, heat, and reduction of power. My system is activated by vac/boost input. The over-ride I have now allows you to keep the valve open when off boost if you wish but will not allow the valve to be closed when on boost. Of course we also use 321 which will handle the extra heat long term.

That was tested when I was dialing in the transition. The most recent version transitions before the mid-range fuel dump. On my AFR meter I see no difference in readings between the valved muffler, my Street muffler, or Outlaw versions. That was the goal. I have spent a ton of time on this project over the years as these are super expensive engines that you don't want to harm or shorten the life of.
