Engine flooding after running for a few minutes?
 

I started my 88' 911 turbo the other day, and after running for a few minutes it started missing then died. It wouldn't start and I could smell fuel. I pulled the plugs and they were soaked. The car is stock except for B&B exhaust. Any suggestions?

How long has it been since you last started it?
Did it spit out black smoke before it died?
How long did it miss before it actually quit running?
How long did you spin the starter over before you smelled fuel?
Have you checked for spark?
If you turn on the ignition, do you here a quiet, high pitched squeel in the left rear corner of the engine compartment?
If not, try wiggling the plug on the bottom of the CD ignition unit and trying again... just a few quick thoughts

I have not tried to start it since this happen. Before it died it spit out flames. It missed about 20 seconds. When I turn the key on now I can here the injectors running. Could the fuel dist. be shot? It does have spark.

That's likely to be the CDI you can hear.

Did you have any fuel being dumped out of the WUR? It has a hose to the air cleaner assy for safety if the WUR blows its diaphragm. Brian Leask can rebuild the WUR for you if this is the problem.
