help with diagnosis
Ok guys, took out the 86 last night after not really driving it much since I got it out here.. Driving it cross country it was running really rich with black smoke coming out when I got on it... I've been meaning to get a LM-1 to see what my AFR was but haven't.. So last night I noticed that was wasn't gettting nearly the boost out of it ( like 0.2-0.3) and that was really stomping on it.. I"m thinking they two issues are related. What do you guys think ? Where should I start to look ? I'm thinking vacuum leak somewhere?? Control valve issue?

I think you got a boost leak, try looking at rotted vacuum lines and other rubber things that seal off the plenum

that's what I was thinking too, just didn't know what woudl be the logical place to look first

Do a boost leak test to her- that will give you some answers
