I need a J-pipe picture

Does anyone have a picture or pictures of a J-pipe mounted on a car without the turbo on it? I bought one from a very well respected fellow Pelican (who is doing everything in his power to make this right) but it hits the engine mount and we're trying to work out what the problem is. He has three others that are very similar in dimensions to the one he sold me which, if the case, will not work. My original has the turbo flange about 1" from the engine mount but the replacement he sent can't be mounted without grinding the corner of the turbo flange. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I always work from the turbo out. Bolt the turbo to the stock bracket using 4 short 10mm bolts, then mount the J-pipe to the turbo and heat exchanger crossover pipe. Leave it all loose and wiggle it around then tighten it all up moving back and forth from the turbo to the crossover pipe. You may have to apply some pressure.
As a last resort you might have to loosten the exchangers as well. The J-pipe does not bend easy but the entire assembly will warp with heat over time.

Thanks Brian. This pipe can bend as much as an inch? Is it harmful to put that much torque on the turbo body while trying to bring the J-pipe back into shape?

I cannot say if your J-pipe is damaged or bent, only that the pipes themselves warp with heat. The pipe you have has likely warped in a different manner than the one on your system. If this fellow will send you another J-pipe you can compare the 2 and keep the one that fits best. Sounds fair to me, ha!

Thanks Brian, I appreciate the help.

+1 on that advice.
I ended up using two floor jacks to support the J pipe; one under the turbo and the other under the wastegate flange.
I'll find out if I have any exhaust leaks when I install my new muffler ;)

Things are looking good so far. I've got the turbo on and the intercooler installed (for alignment purposes) with all of the exhaust pipes loosely fit. I'm just starting to modify the turbo bracket for the new K27. Everything seems to be lining up pretty good so far. Once I get the turbo bracket welded up and torqued I'll start moving back towards the HE's and see how things pull in. I don't think it will be a problem though, the gaps are all pretty small down the line.

only problem with this application is the interference with the clutch linkage and the crossover pipe, other than that, j pipe is good to go.
