She'll be driven but only about 2,000 miles/year. The car came off the truck and it wouldn't start!! I had some friends help push her halfway home (1/4 mile) and tried her again after several failed attempts...started right up and has been fine since. Not sure what the problem was but I'm bringing her in to my mechanic tomorrow for a look see. I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

Very NICE! Congrats and good luck with it! Resist the urge to modify it beyond what can not be reversed.

Thanks for all the replies. She's in excellent condition inside and outside. The PO put a different radio in the car and put monster speakers in the back deck. I have the original radio and a new rear deck that does not have speakers in it. I'm going to take it to the best audio guru around town to try and save the original radio. I pray all the wiring is still there.
The car sat for a long time so a lot of work was done to the car i.e., wheel bearings and such. The undercarriage and wheel wells have probably never been detailed in this cars 22 year life so that is first on the list. I'm sorta sick when it comes to a clean car. The exterior is absolutely beautiful and shines like new. The interior is as nice as the exterior. I have owned so many different cars but never the one that I've always lusted after. I wanted an '86 because, as all of you 930 nuts know, it was the first year Porsche started selling the turbo in the U.S. again and because I graduated high school in 1986. I can't stop staring at this car. Am I sick? Maybe I should seek medical assistance? The lines on this car are as gorgeous as they were back in 1986. I'm so glad I own a piece of Porsche history. What an absolute thrill to drive this car. I love the raw feel of the 80's 911's so much. The new cars feel so "Lexus" to me. Upgrades: definitely need H4's. I'm also replacing all the bushings with Elephant Racing. I will resist with all my might not to upgrade the turbo or intercooler. I want to enjoy drivng the car and showing her as a stock 930. All I can say is I'm happy and can't wait to learn more about this piece of engineering wonder from all of you!

Tinkering Pays!!

Congrats fellow '86 Grad!
Well, you and I share some things in common: Graduating in '86 and new 930 owners [last month for me...].
Q: Do you have an 18-month old [son], too? Well, I guess that would have been a stretch... My '79 had already gone the "mod-route." But, I knew what I was getting [broken head studs and all]. Make sure you have someone remove the valve covers and check for broken head studs. There's 24 of them... Corrision can set in while the car is setting up, and weaken the studs... I had one broken [on a 34K mi. car] and it cost me much $$ and TIME away from driving while in the shop... Enjoy!!

With 11,000 miles the suspention and bushings are jist fine and dandy.
The only reason to replace them at this point would be that your driving skills have surpassed the ability of the 930s handeling carictaristics !! Enjoy your show room condition beauty. The best part is that it is compleatly stock and will make you smile . ENJOY !!

"I will resist with all my might not to upgrade the turbo or intercooler. I want to enjoy drivng the car and showing her as a stock 930. "
I would have to dig back to my first post cause i think I said the same thing...But now my engine is out of the car, refreshing, resealing, new cams, porting and polishing intakes, intercooler on the way, I fell down the slippery slope!!! I loved my car in original condition but hanging out on this forum I think I am going to love it even more with the mods!!

You car looks to be in amazing shape and I love the colour! Congratulations! It seems that a lot of folks, that are buying 930's of late, have experienced a "moment" in their timeline.
My moment..... was when I was in Switzerland with my younger brother for two months one summer visiting relatives. This would have been in 1981 when I was 15 and my brother 14. We were riding our moped skooters over an overpass for the autobahn and we saw a 930 turn the corner onto the on ramp for the bahn....it fish tailed all the way up the ramp.... I almost lost control of my skooter. Had to have one.
