Help me lift my car
I have an in-ground lift and would like to lift my car. I went to my mechanics shop and he showed me the lift points on a 930 that happened to be on one of his lifts. The 930 at his shop had rectangular metal pads that were welded to the car. I thought "easy enough" and came home and drove my car over the lift and realized that my car does not have any of those steal pads that I can see. Keep in mind I have a slantnose. I don't want to do any damage so please help. Pictures would be great as well.
Thanks, Steve

Porsche must have started installing those pads between 81 and 87. My 87 has them, but 81 911SC didn't. Sure makes it easier.

Jack plates
I too am looking to retrofit these welded-in jack plates to my '85 so I can safely use a Porsche scissor jack. Does anyone have a pic of what one of these looks like? Thx.

In the early eightee's when working in a streetcar shop we would use pieces of 2x4 around 10" long to spread out the weight on the jack pad or lift pads in the areas I marked red and lift from there. Right where the seam curves it's strongest..
