930 pooring fuel???

I am a newbie, I am looking at a 76 930.The owner says it is poring fuel out the exhaust. Is this the fuel distributor??? I am thinking of buying it for a v-8 ls1 all aluminum conversion with twin turbo's. I built a 75 911 with a 4.3 v-6 and loved it untill I was rear ended in it... How much is the entire motor assembly worth??

Thanks Dan Parker

more than likely...the fuel pouring out of the exhaust is a stuck piston in the fuel distributor....

If I am correct, I believe the engine in a 76' is a 3.0L and non- intercooled. To be worth any money at all... If I were to buy an engine, I would want it in running condition and have a leak down performed...before I spent any more than a "core charge" on it. So, if it has the stuck piston in the fuel distributor, not running, no leak down numbers, and a 3.0...instead of a 3.3L.. I would say it is worth a core charge... 2 possibly 3 grand is all I would be comfortable spending. But that is only me... I have no idea what it might bring on the open market.

Having a 76 myself, I'd be looking at a 78+ (bigger brakes) you will need to upgrade the brakes if you're going to put that much weight and hp in that car.

I would agree iwth some of the engine logic above, most people with the 3 liter will upgrade to the 3.3 and intercooler unless they want to keep it stock.
