South Florida get together... PBIR??

I don't know if any of you are interested in meeting up at PBIR one Wed or Fri night for their T&T at the drag strip. It would be mostly a place to gather and if anyone (me) gets a wild hair to run their car (me) down the track it could make for an interesting evening. The atmosphere beats a Denny's parking lot and it gives you a chance to run flat out with no cops on your tail.

you guys should come to the 1 mile event in Miami October 11 lots of cool cars will be there, I think theres 5-6 Porsche's representing the stable

As an alternate 'get together' event... I recently took a drive south down HWY 27 to Krome Avenue then west on US HWY 41 to Joanies Blue Crab Cafe; Plenty of parking way out there for the obligatory parking lot discussions and miles of Florida's flat-long-strait roadway

"Everglades Dining At It's Best" located in Ochopee Florida in the Big Cypress Preseve due west of Miami half way to Naples. Also accessible via I-75 (Alligator Alley) from SR 29 ( ahem...no traffic)

Soft Shell Crabs, Garlic Crabs, Grilled Snapper , Catfish, Gator Nuggets with Indian Fry Bread and Salsa... Cold beer, Fresh Fruit Shakes.. cool 'local' live music (guy w/ guitar) after 4pm.

Just an idea to get some cool cars together and perhaps caravan to and from...whatya think?

Jfairman, that would be great to get a bunch of 930's together. The track just seems like a good place for it. I'm actually planning on going this friday night if the weather is decent.

juan - i do plan on going out there to root for the Porsche contingent....Did Eddie decide to run his car? I heard he was saving it for Texas but it would be great to see him make a hit.

turbo3six - that sounds like a fun saturday morning "dash to lunch". After lunch we can hang out and BS in the parking lot till it's time to load up and make a banzi run back to civilization. We could start to gather up the palm beach co. crew as we head down 95. Then meet up with the broward/dade boys somewhere around 595 or wherever a good place to head west would be. I'm not real familiar with that area.

Cool, anyone else going to the 1 mile event? we can definately get a convoy going then.

So if anybody is interested in PBIR tomorrow night let me know. I plan on being there testing my new muffler. And those runs will be my baseline for when I do the intercooler mod.

I've been looking for a South Fla group for a while and looks lke this is it. I just got my car back after a 2 yr rebuild. Need some "expert" advice on the final touches for maximum performance. I'll keep my eye on this string and see where, when and what you guys are planning, I'd would really like to talk to some of you guys and get an idea of what I can expect from all the work I did to the car.

A S. Fla group would be excellent! Soon as I have 911 running, it would be great to go to events like these, especially for those getting their feet wet (like me.)

My 930 is down right not. I have most of the engine parts inside my house, awaiting assembly which should take place soon enough. But I could dust off my 700hp bmw for some Florida fun. I need to run it because it just sits in storage.

i'm game. Hopefully the weather will get better. So we have guys from Broward to West Palm beach, what sounds like a good spot?

Do we want to meet up one evening next week after work? Dinner? Or does PBIR (wed night) sound ok?

yup, I just pulled my car out of the shop to test out my new exhaust, about a mile down the street here comes the rain. Can't even get the car warmed up and the rain hits.

well sorta. I did get one good 2nd-3rd WOT blast. mmm mmm good
