Carrera intake with CIS

I have a 1988 3.3 I built last year with a carrera intake, extrude honed, cut and welded the throttle body to fit a 3.6 blown six intercooler, cis with a custom made venturi plate on the arm, Imagine Auto modded fuel head, custom cis fuel injector holders to fit in the stock carrera injector holes, (just in case I switch to an EFI in the future) twin plugged, ported and polished intake and exhaust, 5 angle valve grind, new guides and valves, Ti valve spring caps and EBS racing springs, electromotive xdi with map sensor, (with many many hours spent setting the timing) 964 cams (not happy with, may change soon), EBS racing timing chains, Mode equal length headers with heat, k-27 7200, (I tried 3 different turbo's and like this one the best) Carrillo rods, arp head studs, 91 3.3 p+c, ni-resist rings, lightweight clutch and flywheel, gt3 oil pump, boattail mains, working a/c, adjustable boost, DP extended tail, etc. (and probably more that I have fogotten about) 525 hp @ 1.1 bar with a B&B twin outlet exhaust, breaks cv joint cages a 1.3 bar (but does go lean above 5000 rpm) with a stinger with 295/35-18 michelin pilot sports on RH 3.6 rims... Just because no one has heard of it doesn't mean it can't be done, and done well. I was a Porsche Master tech at Northland Porsche for 16 years before opening my own place in 2000. Ken you are a local legend aroun sw ohio...I used to live in Springboro and it seemed like every year at the taj show anyone with anything special had your name associated with it. I still go back every year for the show. I'd love to venture down to your shop and take a look at this setup next time I'm home to visit the family.

Wow! Proof that CIS (with proper mods) can deliver enough fuel to support well over 400hp. Your comment about going lean above 5000 rpm...is that only when boosting to 1.3? Just curious.

Outrageous, crazy, and fun project.

What can you tell us about the venturi plate?

Are you running lowered control pressure to max fueling?

Programmable boost management might help w your fueling issue if you start pulling boost back a bit up top. The turbo is probably going in inefficient up top any way.

I pulled back from a k29 and then HF turbo to a K27-7200 and preferred it to.

Pic's, Pic's, Pic's please.

525hp with a K27 7200? wow, i thought they only supported 430hp

Good point and question.

Might have something to do with the level of efficiency his motor is running at and the fuel required to run 1.3 bar.

Often if HP is RWHP or FWHP is not clearly identified.

All this wild crazy talk and no pictures? Do you not know the rules?
A few of us here are CIS junkies and love to see how others are thinking outside the unadjustable WUR. Curious to see where you relocated all that stuff.

Looks like an Italian motor to me... A lot of spaghetti!

5 years ago I didn't have a smart phone, so was much harder to do. Also, I have recently sold the electromotive xdi and replaced it with an older electromotive setup. Ken

Oh yeah, smart phones have made this much easier for sure.
