Ruf wheels
Where would I find a set of 17" Ruf wheels for a 930? Is it rare to find a nice used set? How much am I looking at for a new set? What width is used on a 930 for the Ruf wheels in front and back?
I think they are gorgeous wheels, and would look at replacing the Fuchs on a turbo I am getting, to the Ruf 17" wheels. Thanks!

I know that RUF still makes them, however they are only availible in widths 7" and 9"
I was considering getting a set from RUF, then having the rear chopped and widened to make a 10" or 11" wide.

My set says Speedline on the inside. Maybe you can get the same basic wheel from them, without the Ruf casting mark and center caps.

I have a set of Genuine RUF centerlines and was wondering recently about the price of these. About 3-4 months ago I looked around to see if they were being made anymore and found that replicas were being produced for around $3500 us for the 17's.
Here is a link: Parts - RAC Performance Not sure if they have addional pictures of the wheels though.

Thanks for the information guys!
Now, regarding wheels...what would the advantage be of going with a 10" width wheel versus a 9" in the rear? I think a 255/45 tire would look great on the rear of a 930, but wouldn't know the difference between a 9" and 10" in the back. Would you notice a difference using the same size 255 tire on a 9" versus 10"?

I would go with the 10's, 9's would look too small on that big wheel well.

Stephen, why did you go with 255's for the 10" wheels? I could be wrong, but doesnt someone offer something a little wider for that width? Maybe a 275? Im just asking because I may look for a set of these soon and want to know my tire options

The recommended tire size for that wheel is 255/40/17. I believe other people have fit larger tires on that wheel. I know that size works well with the speedo, I am about 1mph off at 70. Anyone else have the Ruf's with larger tires?
I assume that the web link I posted are being produced now.

According to the website I am looking at, I believe it says 28lbs per wheel. Doesn't sound too heavy to me. Here is the link: 911 Wheel Weights

The 8x15 fuch's are 14lbs but go with 10x17 and they are about the same weight unless you go with a special light aftermarket brand. the 9x16 fuch's are 20lbs.

I cant understand what all the fuzz about the RUF wheels?
They are not that great looking.Wide Fuchs are much more to my liking. What about the great BBS wheels? Having said that a RUF Porsche needs to have RUF wheels. |

![]() ![]() ![]() RUFs (along with Fuchs and the 3.6 Turbo wheels) are the three greatest Porsche wheel designs of all time! OK, some of those BBS basketweaves look pretty sharp, too, while others look period dated. YMMV.

This is what they look like with 285/40's on
100mm larger rolling radius to stock, it makes the speedo read correctly too....
