Hesitation Problem
 

Guys...hope all is well.

I took my stock '87 911 turbo out yesterday after sitting for approx two months. When I got it out to the highway I noticed some hesitation around 3k rpm (when boost started to come on). After 3700 all was smooth....

Any thoughts?

Sounds like it could be fuel mixture or ignition issue. Did you put any fuel stabilizer in the tank before the 2 month lay up? Stored with the gas tank full?

I'd go through the basic tune-up checklist, check fuel pressure, check plugs, wires, cap & rotor, set ignition timing, etc...start with the basics.

Could be an O'ring in the IC plumbing about to go, starting to leak when boost pressure builds. That would cause a pig rich condition and associated loss of power. One of many possibilities.

Follow Jacob's thoughts, though. Check all the basics first.

Plus-chk all hoses,ignition-electrical,mechanical-Take your time--get a chair and sit behind the car,ponder,chk-list,&get to work...

For me I did it...AND still couldn't figure it out...Finally pulling the plugs/looking at them,,,Gave me my answer..

Maybe some Marvel myst. oil/gas line will clear it up.

Same thing happened to me last year....and became worse over time. Mine was a sticky fuel head plunger..cured in 20 minutes my running Techron concentrate in the fuel....cheap option.
