If you click on images and then go to the "view diagram" link it shows the pipe. It's the one that connects the inlet of the turbo to the plenum assembly.

Yep, and a couple of hose clamps should be all that's keeping it in place. I don't understand the comment about it being in some sort of shroud.

Engine tin maybe? It's a pita to remove, with lots of twists and turns, but it can be done. You may need to remove certain parts to make it easier.

Ah yes I got it.
The turbo down pipe is not easy to remove in the car. You need to get everything out of the way as the pipe is one piece and goes 90* under the tin.

Exactly. The pipe has two bends and gets stuck on the turbo and the other pipe going to the IC. The rubber sleeve was cracked at the turbo end and i cannot change it as it is.
What is that shroud? Do i need it? Looks like it separates the turbo intake and pressure pipes maby? If i need to remove the bumper, anyone got a good DIY how to? Thx |

Not sure about this shroud you speak of. Are you referring to the black engine tin?

Most likely yes. It`s thin metal holed out for pipes etc. I`m going to work on it tomorrow. I`ll take some photos then

If you are just changing the rubber sleeve then the pipe does not have to be removed. Loosen both clamps and slide a tiny screwdriver around the perimeter of the rubber sleeve to loosen it. Do the same up top. Now you can rotate the pipe toward you and pull it back away from the turbo. Should be able to remove the sleeve and install a new one at that point.

I recall this being a bugger to remove. Think I had to drop the rear of the engine down a few inches to get the "S" pipe out of the engine tin.
