Wanted - Aftermarket Cone Style Air Filter Assembly for 930

I put this in the classifieds and it dropped off page 1 in 2 hours so no hope for a response.

I'm looking of for one of those K&N style cone filter assemblies that replaces the stock mailbox air breather on the 930.
Please send or post pictures and price.
Thanks!

Brian, I don't recall who the source is but they ain't cheap: around $450 if my memory serves me correctly. Frees up lots of space near the wur, however.

I'm looking for used. I've run across a few new ones going in the 250 range some time ago. I do remember when they first came out iA was charging ~425 which I thought was nuts.
This may take a while but I missed one a month ago that went for $25! No expectations of that of course, ha!

I saw those at Hershey Swap meet. Deffinetly have bussines cards of the guys that were selling them( interested my self in one). They run around 200-250 .
Will look for info and let you know.

How about the intake that Fabspeed sells for $245? Probably still too pricey.

What, dont these work anymore....http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1274238820.jpg

Yes the old school filter works just fine and I'll keep mine. I'm looking for a used plastic K&N type for another project.

911nut 05-19-2010 03:49 AM

Found one:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1274266151.jpg
FVD sells it for (drum roll, please) 595 Euros!
That's $755.
Not the best bang for the buck....

RarlyL8 05-19-2010 06:38 AM

Looks are deceiving. My engine is 350WHP and I have had them on 400WHP engines. If you compute the actual filtering area of the round filter you will be shocked to see that it actually has more square inches than the stock rectangular filter! Do know that these round filters come in different heights. I have seen little bitty 1.5" tall ones all the way to 5" tall. So if you use one you have options.

Prices for the plastic K&N style unit seem to be all over the place. Please keep an eye out for a use one as I cannot sink $200 into this small side project. I like my filter better but completely understand and will accommodate those that prefer the cone.
Thanks -

lol. . . you are correct :D

Just look up the definition of "crotchety old bastard".
crotchety - Wiktionary
"Cranky, disagreeable, or stubborn, especially if prone to odd whims or fancies."

that pretty much covers it.. lol

That sums up almost everyone here!!! ;)

I have one (not being used right now) but I plan to use it in the near future.

If not I will send it to you Brian.

IIRC I got mine from Stephen at IA and it was a hell of alot cheaper than that FVD price.

Fair-man; implies an impartial attitude and male gender. Hmmm the internet dictionary missed that one by a mile.

I you don't like the little filter don't use it, nobody asked you to. And go get your meds refilled or a hooker or something 'cause you seem to be flaking out lately with the attitude. This forum, and I, deserve better. You're an experienced Porsche guy with a lot to offer. Doing so constructively would benefit everyone.

Brian, how'd this work out? I'm enjoying the room this longneck IC is going to lend me and thought I'd also look for a cone filter setup.
If anyone has a lead on one please PM.
Thanks.

Oh man, my car came with one of those in the back seat, I gave it away free. It was pretty beat up though.
