Saw a vidieo clip and when the guy poped the rear lid it lifted by itself???
87-930 stock tail, when I pop the rear lid it just un latches, is that the way they work, you have to lift the lid, or it suposed to open when un-latched? What does yours do. |

I have to do a reach around to get mine to pop up while pulling on it. Maybe it needs lube or something? When it does pop up, I need assistance from a prop rod. Oh! the days when my shocks were young and spry...

A word of caution: Make sure the shaft isn't bent, which will cause the tension to load off-center in the latch...and may hang up and not release when you pull the cable. Been there, done that when I first attemted to adjust things back there. Couldn't get the lid to open at all, and there is no way to get to the latch to force it open in such an emergency. You're basically f - - ed if that happens. You have to resort to giving the lid a bear-hug and wrestling it sideways/up and down/round and round with all your might to get the lid open again.

My next work out will be checking the front tires. They both lose all the air in a week. They are 3 piece BBS race wheels I installed new tires on 6 months ago. |

I just recently installed new stabilus shocks while replacing the engine pad with a new lightweight one from our host.
The engine lid still needed a boost for the latch to release. After adjusting the position of the latch , it now works fine. The lid should not lift by itself until its lifted about 8 inches or so. You have to be real careful in adjusting the position of the latch rod, if it jams in the lower jaws or is incorrectly aligned, you could be in for a long day trying to open the lid. I had another 930 a few years back that i installed another spring inside the original spring to assist in getting the lid to pop open, that did the trick.

When adjusting, do it a little at a time or you'll be sorry.
