Show me your gauge locations
Trying to figure out where best spot to install air/fuel and boost gauges on my 82 sc turbo project!
Show me what you did! |

I built a bracket and installed in place of the ashtray. See the picture that Jwasbury just posted the other day...except I've got the AFR and boost gauge in that location. It's an OK spot, but make sure to recess it a little or your knuckles may hit it when shifting, and may not get a good clear look at it unless you turn your head slightly to get past the edge of the steering wheel.

I had Westach make the gauge on the left, a dual a/f gauge. They can make pretty much any 2 or 3 gauge combo you want. I originally had it mounted in the clock hole, then moved it to the gas gauge hole (same size).http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1288809547.jpg

Damn Gumba..love what you did with the Tach and also the Westach gauge..looks the business! Any closer shots?

Here is a closer shot of the Westach in the clock opening. I made the tach gauge for our race car. The led on the right is a shift light.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1288828245.jpg

Here is my Zeitronix setup. I still have full use of the ashtray. The display just replace where the ashtray handle cover used to be.
Incidentally :), I will be putting it up for sale soon (02 wideband sensor and the LCD display) . It is in almost new condition, only several weeks in the car. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1288845061.jpg |
Here's my AFR and boost gauges.
Greddy boost gauge from eBay. Innovate G5 AFR gauge mounted in a 2" PVC pipe fitting fixed to underside of dash with one M6 bolt. The fitting has a bit of bondo on it that is molded to the curve of the dash to keep it rigid. Very easy to see and although it looks close, it doesn't interfere with heater controls. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1288847253.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1288847277.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1288847565.jpg |
I just hung a triple gauge mount (fuel pressure, EGR, and AFR) from the ashtray and installed my methanol injector contoller in the center consol.

Some great ideas
Keep em coming! You guys have some great looking gauges!

Loving the work some of you guys have done, mine are just boring, with an Andial boost gauge in place of the clock..... Really want a 200+mph speedo, and a tacho that has the red line at the top, all plans for the future

don't know if I would want the boost gauge down this far out of the sight line, but I like my volt meter on top of the stack. Bill K

Here are the gauges in my turbo from right to left. factory boost, stock speedo, NHS replaced the small turbo gauge with a clock in the tach, I made the 3 gauge pod with oil temp, oil pressure, gas gauge, oil & alt lights, I took out the gas gauge dial in the gas gauge and replaced it with a volt meter, rotated the gauge 90 degrees with the tank gauge on the bottom. The big silver knob is the manual boost knob.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1288908971.jpg

No need for ICE or complicated heat controls in my 3.2 Turbo. Room for boost, fuel pressure plus whatever, in my case volts as I'm running an Odyssey, but could easily be AFR or EGT.
