left side cam housing
I Have a 84 930 that I have been fixing a lot of little things on. I took it into my mechanic and had them replace a number of seals and hoses that were old and or leaking. I did not have them pul the engine. the car has 35K miles original on it. He fixed most all of the leaks except the left side cam housing, he said he needed to pull the engine to get to this.. It came back back with a leak that was about the size of the eraser on a pencil so I was thrilled as before I had a lot of oil coming down. Took it out last night for a 30 minute drive and this morning had a bit more oil then I have been seeing since all the repairs. does any body have any pics of the cam housing? does the engine need to be pulled to fix this? trying to get a plan on how to tackle this.

IIRC, you don't have to pull the engine, but it might make it easier.
They are essentially the same, but here's the right side. ![]() ![]()

You may be into it more than you think if the leak is coming from the camshaft end plate area, as that will require camshaft sprocket dis-assembly, re-timing, a whole bunch of work on that left side - right side, too. Rule out other sneaky spots first like the rocker shafts right behind it. See if you can also put a little turn on those 6mm chain box nuts to snug things up.
