She 'Runs like a cut snake!'
![]() Just picked up the 930 from the French garage this morning and she goes like a cut snake! It is the 1st time she has run right since I bought her back in August. She was purchased in the UK and spent 2 months in a 'specialist garage' and about £3-4K of diagnostics and BS later the problem had a band aid on her. I babied her south to France and took her straight to my French tech guy 'Mougins Auto Sport', a week or so later he has replaced the plug leads for OEM shielded leads, Permatune CD box and coil and new rotor. Timing was adjusted correctly and fuel/air mixture adjusted. Car runs 'SWEET' ![]() It is sooo fast! My mechanic reckons she is faster than standard, but that may be the Fabspeed exhaust and the weight loss of front and rear bumpers. Not sure I will retain my driver slicense with his car, so hard staying under the speed limit!! ![]()

Excellent! Too bad for all the high cost and BS diagnostics when relatively simple replacement parts was all it needed.
Definitely, there is a very fine line between keeping one's drivers license and owning a 930 at the same time. Be careful, choose your roads and routes carefully as you decide to push past the legal side of things. As to cut snakes...the last snake I cut was missing his head and he didn't run too fast after that. My car, on the other hand, runs like a raped ape, balls a'fire, a scalded dog, or like a bat out of hell.

Good to see the car running right tpt. And yes it is almost impossible to drive these things and not want to go over 100 miles per hour/160 kilometers per hour.

Nice!
Love the bumper and wheels. Give me a call if you really want to put retaining that license to the test, ha!

Not so impossible with shorter gears. The rpms are so high that you wont mistakenly run 100mph, IMO.
I should try a normal 4th one day to see if it's better for me. |

Thanks all,
sorry Brian, I have spent my budget for upgrades (and some )The stock turbo is now running well and the car seems to have zero smoke from the exhaust, on start up, idle and under boost - although I try not to be looking in my rear view mirror whilst on boost! better idea to be looking ahead and for the 'Gendarmes!'I have some great twisties here and live less than an hour from the 'col de Turini' a famous section of the Monte Carlo Rally, however there are plenty of great roads and scenary inbetween driving and getting some pay back in terms of fun, I have a huge 'fix it' list to make my way through to get everything working as it should. cheers Ben

Glad it is running well and you're having fun. We enjoy some great roads where I live as well. Unfortunate that your problems weren't fixed in the first shop but all is good now so time to enjoy and look ahead.

But at least I am enjoying her in the meatime whilst I try to diagnose the problem! Here is an exhaust clip I took today YouTube - fabspeed exhaust.MOV Sounds better in real life but you get the picture.
