Turbo Oil Supply Question

I am installing the 930 oil supply set-up and I have one question.
I there supposed to be a crush washer under the oil light sensor? It does not look like there is one on the part diagram?

If I add a washer the sensor does not full tighten down. If I do not use a washer, it tightens down in to the housing.

Thanks!

There is a small crush washer on the the pressure switch. You cant see that washer in the photos, but its there. Here's a picture that shows how it it suppose to be...first 2 pictures are from my rebuild the last one was posted here some time ago. Dont forget the ball check valve .

Thanks Stevie,
Maybe I am using the wrong type of washer. The copper one maybe too think which doesnt allow the sensor to seat.

If I remember correctly, it's a M10 aluminium washer, same as on motorcycle brake line banjos

That washer comes with a new pressure sender. Not sure why it wouldnt tighten down with the washer installed, unless the "eye bolt" is stripped inside and you lost some threads, strange.

Jeremy

I am not sure about you're needed washers for pump. I cannot remember for some tapered fittings. So here is my set-up:

#1 is the Idiot light, should be M10 (you measured 9.2mm)

#2 is probably 14mm

#3 is then 16mm (need 2)

Thanks Roland.
For clarification, I do not have the banjo style AN fitting on the inlet side, just the standard fitting.

Also does the pump have to mounted in that orientation? Right now I think I have it rotated counter clockwise (compared to yours) and the inlet is at the "2 o-clock" position.

Thanks again.

I have the pump in the stock position, but nothing against to fit otherwise

So you need a total of 3 washers then...

Where was the tapered thing?

It is in the inside of the fitting I have for the inlet. only seems to have a slight taper on the inside of the fitting.

Maybe you make a pic of it, but it seems to like this, then no gasket needed

I will get you a pic.

The reason for me to rotate the pump, is because the plan is to dump the oil back into the lower drivers side valve cover and not into the oil tank. I was just curious if rotating would have any effect on the efficiency or effectivness of the pump, but would not think so.
